Cupcake Skirt Tutorial Pattern

Welcome to our latest sewing pattern: the Cupcake Skirt! 
This yummy little skirt will be a new fave for your sweet girl! The Cupcake Skirt gets its name from its shape. The top ruffle angles out like the iced top of a cupcake while the sides are straight. This of-the-moment skirt is a modern take on ruffles. Feminine and modern at the same time.Makes a great item for your little one's wardrobe as it’s easy to create lots of looks with this one skirt. Versatile enough to wear to a picnic and to a wedding.
Go casual with a funky tee and snazzy sneakers. Beach it out with a lace-trimmed cami and flip flops or a simple tank and jelly flats. Dress it up with a ribbon-trimmed sweater, and mary janes. Chill out with with capri leggings, a ruffle tank, cardi, and flats on cool days. Cozy it up with tights, Ugg-like boots, a denim jacket, and crochet cap.

Features knee-skimming length, 3 tiers of ruffles, and elastic waist. Stitch one up in all one fabric or mix-n-match fabrics for the each ruffle to create a unique combination. This one pattern will enable you to create 6 different styles – all one fabric, top and bottom ruffle of one fabric, ombre effect, a different fabric for each ruffle, and 2 styles with trims on the rufles. Plus, with the multiple sizes, you’ll be able to get many years of use from this one pattern.

Suitable for beginners with a few other sewing projects under your belt. The black and grey polka dot skirt is sewn from quilting weight cotton. The orchid skirt is pinwale corduroy. Also suitable for voile, linen, poplin, gingham, chambray, lightweight denim.
